How or why is it that such accomplished writers/poets/philosophers like Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak and Rainer Maria Rilke and Sophia Parnok and Simone de Beauvoir were so openly bisexual in the conservative times that they lived? Simone was known to have had underage female lovers. And she along with other intellectuals later petition for the abolition of all age of consent laws in France. Today, pedophilia is a serious crime.
Simone among other books wrote Second Sex, a detailed analysis of women's oppression and a foundational tract of contemporary feminism. She is also noted for her lifelong polyamorous relationship with Jean-Paul Sartre.

रिल्के, मरीना और एक सिलसिला... 7

इधर मरीना बिगड़ते हुए हालात को संभालने के लिए खुद को गहन दुख में डुबोने तक को तत्पर थी, उधर उसके भीतर का प्रेम हर लम्हा उसका जीना मुहाल किए था. वो यूं तो रिल्के को कोई पत्र नहीं लिख रही थी लेकिन असल में हर वक्त वो रिल्के से अनकहे संवाद में थी. आखिर तमाम वादों, चीजों को संभालने की उसकी जिद, किसी को दु:ख न देने की प्रबल इच्छाशक्ति पर प्रेम ही भारी पड़ा और उसने 3 जून को रिल्के को एक पत्र लिख ही दिया.

माई डियर राइनेर,
तुमने एक बार अपने किसी पत्र में लिखा था कि अगर मैं कभी गहन खामोशी में चला जाऊं और तुम्हारे पत्रों का जवाब न दूं, तब भी तुम मुझे लिखती रहना. मैंने इस बात का अर्थ यूं लिया मेरे प्रिय कि तुम्हें एक खामोश राहत की दरकार होती है जिसमें तुम आराम कर सको. मैंने खामोशी की वही राहत तुम्हें पिछले दिनों अता की. उम्मीद है अब तुम अपनी शान्ति को जी चुके होगे और मेरे पत्रों का बेसब्री से इंतजाऱ कर रहे होगे.
मेरे प्रिय, तुम्हारा साथ मुझे आकाश की ऊंचाइयों तक ले जाता है और मेरे भीतर की समंदर की गहराइयों तक भी. तुमसे मिलना है खुद से मिलना और मिलना समूची कायनात से. जब मैं तुमसे बात नहीं कर रही होती हूं, असल में मैं तब भी तुमसे ही बात कर रही होती हूं. मैं तुमसे मिलना चाहती हूं रिल्के. मिलकर तुम्हें बताना चाहती हूं कि एक व्यक्ति किस तरह दूसरे व्यक्तिव का हिस्सा हो जाता है. जैसे कि तुम हो चुके हो. रात की गहन नीरवता में तुम्हें हर पल अपने करीब पाती हूं रिल्के और खामोशी के बियाबान में खुद को गुमा देती हूं.

यह पत्र मरीना ने रिल्के को लंबे अरसे बाद लिखा था और इसमें उसका रिल्के के प्रति प्रेम एक आवेग के रूप में बह निकला था. इस पत्र में उसने बोरिस के साथ घटनाक्रम का कोई जिक्र नहीं किया. हां, यह जरूर है कि इस पत्र को लिखने के बाद उसने एक लंबी पीड़ा से मुक्ति पाई.
एक तरफ मरीना रिल्के को पत्र लिखकर राहत महसूस कर रही थी और दूसरी ओर उसके भीतर यह उधेड़बुन जारी थी कि उसे बोरिस के साथ घटे घटनाक्रम के बारे में रिल्के को बताना चाहिए. आखिर 14 जून को उसने रिल्के को फिर से पत्र लिखा.

सुनो रिल्के,
न जाने क्यों मुझे लग रहा है कि मैं बहुत बुरी हूं. बहुत ही बुरी. पिछले दिनों की मेरी लंबी खामोशी इसी अहसास के चलते थी रिल्के. बोरिस को लगता है कि तुम्हें पत्र लिखकर और तुम्हारे करीब आकर मैंने उसे कोई धोखा दिया है. राइनेर...मैं सचमुच बुरी हूं मैंने उसका दिल दुखाया और पिछले पत्र में तुमसे इस बात का जिक्र भी नहीं किया. असल में मैं जब तुमसे बात करती हूं तो तुम्हें और खुद को खास और एकान्तिक माहौल में रखना चाहती हूं जहां हमें किसी और का ख्याल, कोई और बात छू भी न सके. लेकिन यह तो ठीक नहीं है ना राइनेर, तुम्हारे और मेरे बीच सब पानी की तरह साफ होना ही चाहिए इसीलिए आज तुम्हें यह पत्र लिख रही हूं. मैं अपनी जिंदगी में झूठ के लिए कोई जगह नहीं रखना चाहती हालांकि मेरे हिस्से में बहुतों के झूठ आये हैं, फिर भी. राइनेर, रिश्तों की ईमानदारी और सच्चाई पर विश्वास करती हूं. उम्मीद है तुम अपनी मरीना को समझ सकोगे.

Lucknow University Students Club

This decrepit building located in Narhi under the Hazratganj area of Lucknow is a recreation club of the Lucknow University. It is known that a tent house that supplies all the necessary paraphernalia for fetes, weddings et cetera uses the compound as its base.
It's not known when or whether this place ever functioned as a students club. This has been highlighted in newspapers before but nothing has been done to improve the situation.
Does this prove that today's students don't need the type of recreation that such a club could provide. Now this building is located a few km from the university campus. Recently, a report of the rundown condition of the LU gymnasium, located on the campus, showed where the root of the rot lies.

A driver's foolishness, very common all over the world, led to the death of the two occupants of the car and the motorcyclist.

Do you see the motorcycle?

A motorcycle travelling at 85 mph hit a car whose driver, while talking on the phone, swerved out from a side street into its path. The motorcycle smashed right into the vehicle. Naturally the motorcyclist and the two occupants of the four-wheeler died on the spot.

This crash was put on display to educate the public on the dangers of driving while talking on the cell phone and texting messages.

There was one interesting quotation on speaking the truth by Shaw that went something like: My way of joking is to tell the truth. It is the funniest joke in the world."
However, experience shows that people find it easier to tell lies. Perhaps I'm a lazy chap because I know that if I tell a lie it means, if it is important enough to be questioned, I will have to tell several more to cover up the first one and that is what I can't do.
